Directions 1!
I hope these can help. Obviously we can't give directions from every angle, but as the nearest motorway is the M62, the directions are from the nearest junctions.
Directions to the Church
The postcode for the church is WF10 1SA, on Booth Street. It's easiest to find from Junction 31 of the M62, but I'll also give directions from J32 (Freeport/Xscape). I've been as detailed as possible, so it's dead easy to find.
FROM JUNCTION 31, M62
* Exit the motorway and follow signs to CASTLEFORD, A655.
* Go straight over the first roundabout.
* Follow the road, to the traffic lights (The Rising Sun pub on the left).
* Go straight on, passing rugby fields on right, Diggerland and a petrol station on the left.
* At next roundabout, take 2nd exit (straight over).
* Carry straight on, with houses on both sides, then a park on the left, then new apartments on the left.
* Eventually, you reach a level crossing. Go straight over and.....
* at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit.
* Road bears to the left (take care not to turn into the bus station!), and Booth Street is just after the car sales lot on the left.
FROM JUNCTION 32, M62
* Exit the motorway and follow signs to CASTLEFORD, A639, with Xscape and Freeport on the left.
* Follow the road, past 2 petrol stations on the left.
* At the roundabout, take the first exit, following signs to Castleford.
* Follow the road around, passing a car sales lot on the left, a conservatory place on the left, and a petrol station and Atkinson's fencing on the right (Georgia and Cameron's Dad's place!).
* At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit (right) onto the A656, following brown signs to Castleford Town Centre and the Civic Centre.
* Follow the road around, down the hill. Pass a pub on left, field on the right, carpet place on the left, post office on the left.
* At the next little roundabout, take the first exit, following brown signs to Castleford Town Centre.
* You're now on a two-laned road, stay in the the left lane.
* At the roundabout, take the first exit.
* At both sets of traffic lights, go straight on.
* At the next roundabout, take the first exit.
* Follow the road as it bears left, then right, with shops on both sides, and the bus station on the left.
* At the next roundabout, take the first exit.
* Road bears to the left (take care not to turn into the bus station!), and Booth Street is just after the car sales lot on the left.
Please take care not to park directly outside the church (space is needed for the Bridal party cars and coach, etc), but you can park anywhere on the road and in the car-park next to the church. Parking will be very limited, though. It is Pay and Display (only about 60p an hour), but free parking permits should be available at the Church door from the Ushers.
